Sarah and Mark were a young couple looking to expand their Gordon Park residence from a small 1.5 bedroom Queenslander into a four bedroom three bathroom entertainers home. This is their story:
"From late 2015 to 2016 my partner and I started renovating our small 1.5 bed original Queensladner in Gordon Park into a 4 bed 3 bath entertainers home.
We both work in the construction industry and decided with our knowledge we could do the work as an owner builder. After organising considerable initial works, excavation, slab, house raise, pool, etc. Circumstances changed and we required a builder to finish. We were referred to a builder through friends and engaged them only to be let down by substantial cost and timeframe blow outs, with trades not showing up, half finished work and exorbitant variations demanded.
At frame stage we decided to change builders and were aware that our build would be a messy one that most builders wouldn't want to touch.
In June 2016 we contacted Andrew at Boucher Build and ran through exactly what we were wanting to achieve. Andrew came to site and thoroughly inspected what had been done during our renovation to date. He walked us through some of the work that was not quite to his workmanship standard and how these works would be rectified. With any questions we had he was approachable and knowledgeable. Any variations required were discussed and fair, he was flexible in making the build work within our tight budget and now stretched time frame while still achieving our very specific period style. Andrew has a longstanding relationship with his subcontractors which is a testament to how he treats his staff. This provides his clients with access to reliable and quality trades and workmanship.
For our next renovation we will be using Andrew and Boucher Build’s services from the start for a far less stressful experience and more certain timeframe and budget. We have already referred Andrew's services to friends renovating and building both north and south side of Brisbane and will continue to do so."
